SOJOURN COLLEGIATE MINISTRY BOARD OF DIRECTORS COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE
As a Board member of Sojourn Collegiate Ministry , I fully commit to the following:
ATTENDANCE
1. I will attend and actively participate in the regularly scheduled Board Meetings.
2. I will participate in appropriate committee meetings and conference calls
3. I will always be an advocate for Sojourn Ministry in any way the Lord provides
4. If I miss 2 consecutive meetings - I understand I will be excused from the Board
OVERSIGHT
1. I will come to Meetings / Conference Calls prepared in advance and always be aware of major issues before the Board
2. I will respect the Executive Director’s role in the management of Sojourn Ministry
SUPPORT
1. I will give at least $500 or more financial support to Sojourn and be aware of possible donors around me in my area of work and location.
2. I will be available to discuss my financial/ work involvement in making Sojourn a success.
3. I will respect confidentiality4. I will be mindful of the 6 core responsibilities of the board
SIX CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. As a Board Member - I realize along with other Board Members I am responsible for the integrity and the mission of Sojourn as defined by the Executive Director
2. As a Board Member - I will not micro-manage but always keep Sojourn on the“Rails of Its Intended Vision”.
3. As a Board Member - I will quarterly check in with assigned Team Members to encourage and to support
4. As a Board Member - I will hold the Executive Director responsible for the ministry but will not interfere in his direction of the ministry unless I bring it before the Board at opportune time
5. As a Board Member - I will agree to set policy and monitor compliance with regards to financial and legal matters , protecting the ministry from risk
6. As a Board Member - I will attempt to remember to pray to God for wisdom and success of the ministry.
