Wags to Riches Grooming Policies

Please read the following CAREFULLY and provide your signature in agreement to our policies

At Wags to Riches, your pet is particularly important to us and we want to assure you that every effort will be made to make your fur baby’s grooming experience as safe and pleasant as possible. Safety it the most important priority during the grooming process: for your pets and our staff as well. You are required to sign this grooming release form to have your pet groomed at our salon.

Health, Medical or Behavioral Issues: It is your responsibility as a pet owner to inform your groomer of any & all issues with your pet. Occasionally grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. Wags to Riches cannot be held responsible for undisclosed medical, behavioral or health conditions. We have the right to refuse future services if you do not fully disclose all potential health risks with your groomer.

Accidents: Although accidents are rare, there is always a risk when handling pets. While we use extreme caution and care in all situations, grooming equipment is extremely sharp and possible accidents can occur, including (but not limited to): cuts, nicks, scratches, or quicking of the nails. In most cases, this can happen when a pet is wiggling, moving around or becomes distracted. Your pet’s safety and comfort are our number one priority. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified. Wags to Riches will cover those injuries requiring medical attention if we are assumed responsible by a veterinarian.

Veterinarian Authorization -- Medical Emergencies:  In the event of a life-threatening medical emergency and you cannot be reached, this release gives Wags to Riches Grooming, LLC. full authorization to seek medical treatment from the nearest licensed veterinarian while the pet is in the care of Wags to Riches. All veterinary costs and expenses will be the responsibility of the pet's owner unless Wags to Riches assumes responsibility.

Current Vaccinations: All pets being serviced by Wags to Riches LEGALLY must be current on their rabies vaccination and provide documentation of such. This is North Carolina law and there are no exceptions unless you have a written note by your veterinarian. It is your veterinarian’s office responsibility to let you know when your pet’s rabies is expiring. We will try our best to remind you, but it is ultimately not Wags to Riches’ responsibility to keep your pet updated on the rabies vaccine. If you arrive to your appointment with an expired rabies vaccine, you will not be allowed to groom your pet and you will be asked to reschedule.

Cancellations/No Call-No Show: Because we book on an hourly basis and cancellations can leave an empty block in the schedule that could have otherwise been used by another client, we ask that any rescheduling or cancellations be made at least 24 hours in advance. If you do not call to cancel and do not show up to your appointment, this is considered a “no call, no show” and a fee of $25 will apply and is required to be paid before another appointment may be scheduled.

Late Policy: Our time is valuable being on an appointment-based schedule, therefore we allot specific amounts of time for each pet. We cannot accept your pet for their groom once it is 15 minutes past the appointment time. A fee of $20 will be charged for a missed appointment time.

Extended Stay: Because we are a cage & crate free facility, the timeliness of picking your pup up is important. We give you an estimated time of how long the groom should take as well as notify you 20 minutes before your dog is ready. Dogs that are left in our care for more one hour after we notify you that they are almost done will incur a charge of $15. We simply do not have a place to hold your pet after their groom. Please respect the pick-up times so that the next pet can have the same one-on-one experience yours did.

Fleas/Ticks:  If your pet has any fleas, they will automatically be given a flea bath at your expense of $7 in addition to the cost of their service. This includes the cost & time to sanitize the salon as to not transmit fleas to other pets.

Dangerous or Aggressive Animals -- Refusal of Services: Wags to Riches has the right to refuse any services at any time. If we cannot safely groom your dog by safely restraining and/or muzzles, we may recommend you discuss sedative options with your vet before returning for another groom or we may refer you to a vet for full sedation grooming. You also understand that the groom may not be completed but there may still be a grooming fee charged for the services rendered until that point. It is your responsibility to let your groomer know if your dog has bitten a human or other dog before. If you do not disclose your pet’s aggression or behavioral issues, you may no longer receive services at our salon.

Sedated Pets: At Wags to Riches, we will attempt to groom sedated pets. *Please ask your groomer for a sedated release form if your pet is/will be on ANY behavioral medication* If you sedate your pet for its appointment and do not inform us of it, you understand that we will not be held liable for any repercussions related to the sedation. If we believe your pet has been sedated without our knowledge, we can stop and/or refuse services and a fee will be charged for services rendered until that point.

Matted Coats: Pets with matted coats require extra attention and precaution. Wags to Riches will not cause serious or undue stress to your pet by de-matting heavily matted coats and may require your pet to be shaved a short length. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to skin trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet's skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, producing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, and failure of the hair to regrow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. If your pet needs to be shaved to remove matting, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure and any risks presented. There will be an additional charge for this process: it is very time-consuming and causes extra wear on grooming equipment. De-Matting charges can be anywhere between $5-25 depending on severity, and if we must shave your dog, a Matted Shave Fee of anywhere between $10-$25 will apply in addition to the cost of the groom. Please understand that if removal of the mats is too painful or uncomfortable for your pet, it may result in uneven areas or closer shaved areas than requested.

Other Fees/Service Charges: Special Handling Fee – if your pet requires a second handler to be safely groomed, a fee of $10-20 will apply.

Payment & Pricing: Prices of grooms are based on breed, weight, coat type & condition, temperament, desired haircut and time. While we strive to notify clients of price changes, prices are subject to change without notice. Payment is due in full at time of pick-up. We accept cash, check, Apple Pay, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

All dogs MUST be leashed! This is for the safety of you, your pets and Not all dogs are comfortable greeting strange dogs. All dogs must be on a leash, and retractable leashes must be locked at 6ft for less. Please do not allow your dog to approach another dog in the lobby.

Satisfaction: Your satisfaction is especially important to us. If you are unhappy for any reason or would like something fixed, please notify our salon and we will be happy to make any adjustments.
