2026 Gold Member Agreement

GOLD MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT

February  2026

TWIN LAKES WATER SKI PARK

Twin Lakes is striving to be the best competitive three-event water ski site in the Northeast.  There is a great deal of work that goes into making the club run.  In an effort to distribute work more fairly among all gold members and owners, there is a discount for those members who agree to perform work at the site.  As always, the club also seeks to support tournament skiing, and we ask everyone to help run tournaments and to participate as USA Water Ski officials.

  • Gold Membership Fee with work discount: $2500
  • Gold Membership Fee without work discount: $3000
  • College Membership Fee for those under 25 on January 1, 2026: $1500 (work required for college membership discount)
  • Gold Family Membership Fee: $200 per year for each additional immediate family member, including children who are under 25 on January 1, 2026.

All skiers and drivers (including guest skiers and drivers) must be signed up as current members of USA Water Ski for insurance reasons, provide an active membership number to the club and comply with all USA Water Ski requirements (including completing the required SafeSport trainings within 30 days of signing up for US Water Ski).  In addition, all skiers, drivers and those participating in an event at the site, including riding in a boat, must sign the Twin Lakes specific release form below.  Those participating in an event at the site (such as riding in a boat) who are not USA Waterski members must also sign the standard USA Water Ski release form for themselves and any minors in their care.

SET FEES

Gold members will pay $18 per set for 6 slalom passes/10 minutes of trick/4 passes over the jump.  Each extra pass beyond 6 passes is $3.00 per pass.  Gold members will be billed for their set and guest fees at the end of the season.

If an owner, gold member, or signed-up gold family member uses a driver who has signed a driver/coach agreement with the club (hereafter a “Paid Driver”), it is recommended that the skier pay the driver $20 per set.  However, it is ultimately up to the skier and Paid Driver to negotiate this rate and skiers are responsible for paying the Paid Driver directly.  The club will have no involvement in financial transactions between any skier and Paid Driver.

The fee for a gold member guest is $50 to the club per set and a recommended $30 per set to the Paid Driver.  Guests must provide a current and valid USA Water Ski membership number and a signed Twin Lakes release form.

When a Paid Driver is available at the site, skiers must sign up 24 hours in advance on Google Sheets for a specific time slot.  If the skier does not sign up in advance, whether the Paid Driver is available to accommodate the skier is at the driver’s discretion.  In addition, if a skier signs up, does not cancel more than 24 hours in advance, and does not show up, the skier must pay the driver for the slots for which she/he signed up.  This way the driver is not waiting around needlessly at the site if no one is going to ski.  In addition, if a skier owes a driver money, the driver can refuse to pull that skier until the driver is brought current.  However, the club will not police these issues, which will be worked out between skier and driver.

SKIING ROTATION

Each lake at the site will have a rotation or order in which skiers will ski, to be kept on the white board. Gold members and owners have full priority over limited members (sometimes in the past called “Ten Pack” or “One Time”) skiers and will ski on a first-come, first-served basis according to when they arrive at the site.

The running order will have separate lists for: a) gold members/owners; and b) limited members. This is to make it easier for gold members and owners to go ahead of limited members, including even if the gold member or owner has already skied. This is because we want everyone to become a gold member!  Skiers will be added to the rotation list either when they arrive at the site or when they complete their prior set.

Each lake will operate on a separate rotation or running list. A skier can only put his or her name on one rotation list at a time, but if multiple family members/a guest are present, then that group may have one person on each lake’s running list at a time.

We maintain a schedule in Google Sheets for planning purposes. However, the running order on the whiteboards at the site will control over Google Sheets.  In other words, when the site is busy, in order to secure a place in the running order, a skier must be on site.

Guests and family members of gold members and owners will ski in the rotation slot of the gold member or owner. When a signed-up family member or a guest of gold member is skiing, only one person from that family/guest group will be on the rotation at a time. Another family member or guest can be added when the person in that group who is currently in the rotation completes his or her set.

One turn consists of 6 passes through the slalom course, 10 minutes of trick skiing or barefoot skiing, or 4 passes over the jump. If the lake is not busy and no skiers are waiting, a skier may do additional passes.

The above is intended to provide order when large numbers of skiers are present at the site. Smaller groups may allow deviations from this rotation by mutual consent; however, at the request of any gold member or owner, the above rules will be enforced.

Limited members will be limited to 10 sets at cost of $70 per set paid to the club and a recommended $30 per set paid to the Paid Driver.  After that, a limited member must become a gold member to ski, but will receive credit against their membership dues and set fees for amounts already paid to the club (but not to the driver).  Each guest of a gold member can only ski 5 sets, after which she/he must become a member to ski.  These limitations are meant to provide greater value and site access for those who sign up as gold members.

A log book will be maintained in the owners’ shed listing all gold members, limited members and owners.  When a skier has finished skiing, he/she must record all sets and any extra passes taken in the log book.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF ALL MEMBERS

1Safe use of the site and facilities.
2. If a gold member wants to qualify for the work discount, he or she must perform significant work to help run the site.  A list of tasks to be performed will be created in Google Sheets to facilitate this process.  Some tasks will be recurring and some will be one-time tasks.  Gold members and owners can perform tasks that suit their interests and schedule.  A group of owners called the Member/Driver committee made up of Aryeh Lazarus, Dov Lazarus, Mike O’Brien, Jenna Voss and Jon Streeter will determine whether a gold member has met the work requirement to qualify for the discount.
3. Maintain the slalom and jump courses and leave them in perfect shape when finished skiing.  In the event that a buoy is lost or damaged, replace it immediately from a stock maintained by the club.
4. The last person leaving the site will check to be sure that all doors and gates are locked and both boats are on their lifts with keys locked in the shed.
5. Maintain active USA Waterski membership, including completion of required SafeSport trainings.

COACH/DRIVER

While the club plans to recruit a Paid Driver to be at the site during busy ski times, the club will not provide housing or transportation for any such driver and will not be involved in financial transactions between any Paid Driver and any skier.  Any Paid Driver is independent of the club and is not an employee or affiliate of the club.  A Paid Driver will indicate his or her availability on Google Sheets.  To the extent a skier wants to ski during a time when a Paid Driver is not available, the skier should reach out to the gold members and owners on the certified drivers list (described below) to try to find another driver.  There will be a presumption that if a Paid Driver is on site, that driver will pull all sets of limited members, unless the site is busy and there are skiers on both lakes.

USE OF TWIN LAKES BOATS

Only certified drivers may drive gold members, limited members and guests at Twin Lakes.  Certification will consist of obtaining a USA Water Ski “Trained Driver,” “Assistant Driver,” “Regular Driver” or “Senior Driver” rating and by being certified to drive by an owner of the club.  A chart of certified drivers will be posted in the log book.

PROCEDURE FOR BOAT USE

Prior to using any boat, a driver/member/owner will check gas level, bilge water, fumes in bilge and any damage to the boat.  No boat will be operated if it is unsafe, if doing so will damage the boat, if any of the gauges or warning lights on the boat indicate it should not be used or if it has less than ¼ tank of gas.  Operating a boat with low fuel can damage the fuel pump.  Any mechanical problems that are not immediately correctable will be reported to the boat committee which is made up of Aryeh Lazarus, Mike O’Brien, JJ Paulovich and Jon Streeter. After use the boat will be refueled, raised out of the water, and wiped down inside and out.  All skiers should help with cleaning the boat after use.  The club will provide fuel, motor oil, and any other necessary maintenance items.  Only club supplied items will be used to service the club boat unless approved by the boat committee.
