Intern Confidentiality Agreement
As a paid intern of Southern New Hampshire University, I may have access to sensitive or confidential information. This Intern Confidentiality Agreement (hereafter the “Agreement”) serves to verify that I have been made aware of the strict prohibition against inappropriate use or disclosure of sensitive or confidential information.
I understand that Southern New Hampshire University expects me to hold in confidence any sensitive or confidential information I may become privy to in the course of my work. Because this information is solely available to me as a result of my paid internship, I will not discuss, use, forward, print, copy, photograph, record or otherwise disseminate any confidential or sensitive information that is given, shown, or available to me, or which otherwise comes to my attention, for purposes outside the legitimate scope of my work.
Examples of confidential information that I may become aware of during the course of my internship at Southern New Hampshire University include, but are not limited to:
• Information regarding the financial circumstances, salaries and/or bonuses, giving and payment records, or financial aid status of students, prospective students, employees, associates, donors, alumni, guests, and the family members of the aforementioned, as well as those of corporations and other organizations which have an established or potential relationship with Southern New Hampshire University.
• Information from or regarding the educational records of students, prospective students, alumni, employees, donors, associates and guests of the University.
• Information regarding the physical or mental health or personal affairs of any of the aforementioned individuals.
• Information pertaining to Southern New Hampshire University’s finances or budget, public relations plans or details, communications plans or details, or other internal or sensitive institutional information.
• Information regarding access to Southern New Hampshire University’s electronic files of any kind, and information pertaining to intellectual property of any kind, written or unwritten.
• Proprietary SNHU educational content, including content in development or developed for instructional use in an online or on-campus setting, including but not limited to original academic content, courses, existing and contemplated products, degrees, and certificate and professional development tools.
I am aware that my access to confidential information, including my use of SNHU information systems or software, may be audited at any time. I further understand the consequences of my actions if I violate this Agreement. Specifically, failure to comply with this Agreement will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of my internship and/or the termination of my contract or other working agreement at Southern New Hampshire University and may also subject me to civil or criminal legal penalties.
