MEDIA RECORDING CONSENT, RELEASE & RIGHTS AGREEMENT
By checking the box below and participating in any
activities, classes, events, or recordings with Kumite Martial Arts LLC
d/b/a Odyssey Jiu Jitsu (“Company”), I acknowledge and agree to the
following:
1. Consent to Recording
I understand that classes, training sessions, seminars,
instructional recordings, live streams, interviews, promotional shoots, and
other activities may be photographed, filmed, or recorded. I voluntarily
consent to being recorded, including background appearances.
2. Grant of Rights
I grant Company an irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual,
royalty-free right to record, use, edit, reproduce, distribute, publish,
display, and create derivative works from my image, likeness, name, voice, and
performance in any media now known or later developed, for instructional,
commercial, promotional, and educational purposes.
3. Ownership
All recordings and media created by Company are the sole
and exclusive property of Company. I have no ownership rights in any
footage, edited content, courses, promotional materials, or related
intellectual property.
4. Teaching & Demonstrations
If I appear as an instructor, coach, demonstrator, or
featured participant, the same rights apply to my teaching appearances. This
agreement does not prevent me from teaching elsewhere; it confirms Company owns
its recordings and published materials.
5. Compensation
Participation is voluntary and no payment, royalties, or
revenue share are owed unless I have a separate written agreement
signed by both parties. Company may choose to provide copies or clips at its
discretion.
6. Editing & Use
I waive any right to review or approve finished content.
Company may edit, crop, caption, subtitle, translate, combine with other
materials, or otherwise modify recordings.
7. Release of Claims
I release Company, its owners, employees, contractors,
affiliates, licensees, and assigns from any claims related to the use of
recordings, including claims involving privacy, publicity rights, or
defamation, to the extent permitted by law.
8. Filming Locations
This agreement applies to recordings made at Company
facilities or at outside locations (seminars, competitions, affiliate visits,
travel events, etc.), and applies regardless of where filming occurs.
9. Assumption of Risk
I understand martial arts and grappling training involve
inherent physical risks, including serious injury. I assume all risks
associated with participation during recorded or non-recorded activity.
10. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of
Georgia.
11. Minors
If signing for a minor, I am the legal guardian and agree to
all terms on the minor’s behalf.
