LIMITED TERM CONTRACT AGREEMENT

 

The Chappelle Gardens Resident Association (CGRA), is pleased to offer Paula Morrow contract instructor position within CGRA. We look forward to having you deliver superior customer service in a professional manner. If for any reason we must cancel your class due to low registration numbers, we will notify you at least 24 hours prior to its start date, unless otherwise agreed upon. 

Program Instructor Responsibilities:

The Instructor agrees to provide instruction for the following classes:

Class Facilitation:

  • Set up of all equipment needed for instruction.
  • Clean up of all equipment used within the instructional setting of the class.
  • The Instructor shall provide: 
      • Energetic, engaging, and educational classes
      • Specialized equipment required to instruct the class
      • appropriate music for the purpose of the type of class offered
      • transportation to and from the Residents Association
      • all incidental expenses related to the service provided
  • Notify the Program and Events Coordinator of any equipment malfunctions or concerns via email:  events@chappellegardensra.ca
  • Wear appropriate attire for the classes.
  • If you are facilitating a program with children under the age of 12, you must stay present with participants until a parent or guardian has arrived to pick them up.
  • All instructors must complete an Instructor On-Boarding package to verify insurance coverage, police check clearance, and certification validity. 

 Substitutes and Changes:

  • Arrange an approved substitute for any classes you are unable to attend with a maximum of 2 classes missed per session. 
  • Notifying the Program and Events Manager of any changes / substitutes immediately.
  • A resume and copy of certificates must be submitted for all substitutes to be approved.
  • For emergencies, less than 8 hours prior to class start time, please contact our Events Coordinator, Diana on her cell phone:  780-239-0213
  • Please submit an invoice no less than monthly with the following information:
  • The Instructor shall keep financial records appropriate for a proprietor, file reports and pay all taxes, licenses, social deductions and other fees, etc. as required by various government agencies.
  • All payments will be completed through Direct Deposit. A one-time Direct Deposit form must be submitted prior to an invoice, and a Penny Test will be performed upon first payment. Please allow up to 30 days for the payment to be processed.

Insurance and Waivers:
Chappelle Gardens Residents Association is not responsible for any injury, illness or property damage that may occur to the participants or the facility in the duration of your class. The Chappelle Garden Residents Association’s insurance policy does not cover any negligent action that may occur under your supervision. On the first session of your scheduled class, please allow our staff 10 minutes to distribute and collect signed waivers from your participants prior to the start of your class. This waiver will only protect the Chappelle Gardens Residents Association, and you may choose to distribute your own waivers if you wish to do so.

Invoices:

  • Please submit an invoice no less than monthly with the following information:
    • CGRA’s full name and address

    • Invoice number
    • Your name or Business Name (if applicable) and mailing address
    • Number of classes facilitated at the agreed contractual rate hereinafter set out.
    • If you are a registered business, and are including GST at 5%, you must include your GST number.

Training:

  • Maintain current certification relevant to your program and provide a copy to the Program and Events Coordinator (Ie:  AFLCA or Can Fit Pro or ACE and Standard First Aid, and CPR where appropriate).  Failure to maintain current certifications will result in this contract being terminated upon expiration. 

Confidentiality:

As a contract employee of CGRA, you will acquire information about the business, clients, intellectual property, and financial affairs of the organization.  All such confidential information is the organization’s property and must be treated as confidential.  You should not disclose any confidential client information without the specific written consent of the client.  You agree that you will not, at any time, directly or indirectly, disclose to any third party any confidential information, except in the course of your duties to the organization.

Chappelle Gardens Residents Association Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of equipment and facility
  • Marketing and promotion of programs and classes
  • Registering clients into programs and collecting payment

The undersigned hereby agrees to abide by the conditions and terms set out in this Contract and we specifically agree that no employer/employee relationship exists with respect to the services to be provided thereby.
