Adaptive Sports Foundation Handbook Acknowledgment
I realize that skiing/riding bears certain risks, which can lead to catastrophic injury or death. I agree to accept the risk of skiing/riding. I agree that skiing/riding is hazardous and voluntary. I agree to assume the risk of injury while participating in the sport, and agree not to sue Windham Mountain Club, the Adaptive Sports Foundation or its employees or agents if hurt while using the facilities regardless of any negligence of Windham Mountain Club, the Adaptive Sports Foundation or its employees or agents.
- I realize that skiing/riding privileges are not a part of my compensation from either company.
- I understand that lockers and storage areas provided by The Adaptive Sports Foundation are property of the organization and may be inspected by authorized personnel if there is a legitimate concern for safety, security, or policy violations. Any such inspection will be conducted respectfully and in accordance with ASF’s commitment to maintaining a safe and professional environment.
- I agree to remain free from the influence of illegal drugs or substances while volunteering with The Adaptive Sports Foundation or participating in related activities. If I am taking prescribed medications that may affect my ability to safely volunteer, I will notify ASF staff in advance. ASF maintains a zero-tolerance policy for substance abuse in the workplace or during volunteer duties.
- I agree not to volunteer if I am ill, contagious, or otherwise unable to safely participate in ASF programs. I will follow current public health guidance (including CDC and NYS recommendations) related to communicable diseases and will promptly inform ASF if I test positive for or have been exposed to any condition that could impact the health and safety of others.
- If ASF has a reasonable concern that a volunteer may be impaired or unfit for duty, ASF may remove the individual from their assignment for safety reasons and, if appropriate, request documentation from a medical professional confirming readiness to return. ASF will follow applicable laws and organizational policy in addressing such situations.
- I have received and read the Adaptive Sports Foundation 2025-2026 Volunteer Handbook and fully understand the procedures, responsibilities, privileges and work rules of being a member of the volunteer staff, and I will abide by the rules, regulations and procedures as stated in the Adaptive Sports Foundation Personnel Handbook.
- I understand that I can be terminated from my volunteer role with or without cause, at any time, with or without notice.
- I understand that I am not guaranteed volunteer work at any time or for any length of time.
- All questions that I have pertaining to the handbook(s) and to my position at the Adaptive Sports Foundation have been answered to my satisfaction.
- The Adaptive Sports Foundation is the sole interpreter of all policies stated in its volunteer handbook.
